Wikis develop through community collaboration and contribution. If you'd like to help this wiki grow and become an even more useful resource for the entire Deep Tech community, the guide below will help you get started.

General Principles

  • Make sure that all pages are relevant to the Wiki's shared understanding of deep tech.
  • Adhere to the project's purpose. Consistent content encourages more readers to your contributions and in turn more contributions from everyone - creating a valuable resource that creates scale and impact beyond any individual effort.
  • Contributors are encouraged to use common sense and to ignore all the rules if it prevents you from improving or maintaining the Wiki.
  • Refrain from any form of vandalism. We have very little tolerance for anything that sullies the good faith efforts of our many contributors.
  • The Wiki is not a soapbox or means of promotion. Content is expected to be objective and informative.
  • Note our position on AI-generated content.

If you're unsure, go ahead and make your edits anyway. This Wiki is always a work-in-progress and any errors can easily be fixed.

Editing the Wiki

Everyone is welcome to improve the wiki by editing it.

For help using the platform itself, see Help:Beginner editing guide. Otherwise, the following actions are always helpful:

Adding new pages

You can create a new page on any Deep Tech topic you like. This could be a startup, an investor, an accelerator, an overview of an emerging technology, or anything else really.

Not sure what might be a useful new page? Look through the current list of wanted pages and see if anything interests you.

Improving existing pages

Spot an error or think a topic can be explained better? Click the edit button on the top right of the page and make those changes.

You can also look through the list of pages needing maintenance and see if anything there interests you.

Flagging pages that need improvement

If you see a page that could be improved, you could help by flagging it so that another editor can come and look at it.

To flag a page, simply add a maintenance tag where appropriate. If possible, also leave a note on the Discuss page explaining why you added it.

Spread the word

Simply bringing awareness to the Deep Tech Wiki will help it grow and become the central repository of Deep Tech information. Here are some ideas on how to do so:

  • Used a page for your work? Cite or reference it.
  • Found an interesting startup you'd like to share? Share the Deep Tech wiki page.
  • Work in the venture industry? Encourage the startups and investors in your network to create their page on the wiki.

Join a project

Projects are long-term efforts to make substantial improvements to the wiki. These projects are listed here to avoid duplication of effort and to welcome additional contributors to the project.
