Template:Import placeholder/doc
Purpose
{{Import placeholder}} is used on pages that were automatically created during content imports (typically from Wikipedia or other Wikimedia projects) but do not yet contain locally developed material.
It helps:
- alert readers that the page is incomplete,
- guide editors toward improving and localizing the content,
- link to the equivalent article on the source wiki for reference,
- categorize the page so it can be found and expanded later.
Usage
Place the template at the top of a page that is known to be an imported placeholder:
{{Import placeholder}}
This displays an information-style ambox and automatically links to the corresponding article on the English Wikipedia (using the current page title).
When the title differs
If the imported page’s original title is different from the title on The Deep Tech Wiki, specify it
using |article=:
{{Import placeholder
| article = International Organization for Standardization
}}
When the source wiki is not English Wikipedia
If the content came from another Wikimedia project, use |source= and
|interwiki= to control the displayed text and link prefix:
{{Import placeholder
| source = German Wikipedia
| interwiki = de
| article = Deep Tech
}}
