Usage

This redirect category (rcat) template populates both Category:Redirects from EC numbers and Category:Unprintworthy redirects by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Redirects from EC numbers are not suitable for a printed version. In other words they are unprintworthy.

Please do not alter the printworthy settings of this rcat without first notifying the Version 1.0 Editorial Team, who are responsible for any and all materials, including redirects, that go into a printed version of Wikipedia.

Add this rcat to a redirect page, not a talk-page redirect, in the following manner:

Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:

Use this rcat to tag all mainspace redirects from EC numbers that target their related articles. Redirects should be in the form "EC x.x.x.x" where "x" in a single- or double-digit integer and will be automatically sorted in the category by the number (x.x.x.x) without the "EC" prefix. An example is:
- EC 4.1.1.39RuBisCO.

Technical note

This template has an unnamed parameter, |1=, that is used to correctly sort a few redirects from EC numbers that were formatted incorrectly when created. Normally, this parameter does not need to be used since correctly formatted redirects (EC x.x.x.x) are automatically sorted by this rcat template.
