Usage

Use this rcat template in any namespace.

• This redirect category (rcat) template populates Category:Redirects from list topics and, when added to a redirect in the main-article namespace (mainspace), it also sorts it to Category:Printworthy redirects. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Mainspace redirects from list topics to their associated lists are suitable for a printed version. In other words they are printworthy.

• Add this rcat to a redirect in the following manner:

#REDIRECT [[(target page name)]]

and when the redirect is in article mainspace, printworthiness should also be tagged:

Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:

#REDIRECT [[(target page name)]]

• Use this rcat to tag any redirect in any namespace from the topic of a list to the equivalent list page or article, for example:
  • Birds of TunisiaList of birds of Tunisia.

If the redirect topic is detailed enough to sustain its own article, then use {{R with possibilities}} in addition. If notability of the subject can be shown, then be bold and convert the redirect into an article on the topic.
