When used by itself:

• From an alternative name in comics: This is a redirect from a title that is another name or identity, a pseudonym, a nickname, or a synonym of the comic book character detailed in the target article.
  • In accordance with the Manual of Style (comics) guidelines, when the target article becomes too big, this redirect may be replaced with an article carved out of the target page after discussion on the target talk page.
  • For redirects created after page moves due to compliance with naming conventions for comics, see {{R comics naming convention}}.
  • Do not replace these redirected links with a link directly to the target page.

Usage

Use this rcat template on mainspace redirects only.

This redirect category (rcat) template populates Category:Comics redirects from alternative names and Category:Printworthy redirects by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Mainspace redirects from comics alternative names are suitable for a printed version. In other words they are printworthy.

• Place this rcat on a redirect page (not a talk-page redirect) in the following manner:

Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect.
