Usage

Use this rcat template in any namespace.

This redirect category (rcat) template populates both Category:Redirects from creators and Category:Printworthy redirects. Use this rcat to tag any redirect in any namespace from a person who is a creative contributor to a notable work or series of works to a general, related topic, such as the work(s) to which the person contributed, other creator they collaborated with, or company they have worked for.

In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Mainspace redirects from a creator are usually suitable for a printed version. In other words they are printworthy. See below for those instances when a redirect from a creator is unprintworthy.

Add this rcat to a redirect in the following manner, in accord with instructions found at Wikipedia:REDCAT:

Template This page is being depreciated is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page.

This rcat may also tag a redirect individually, without {{rcat shell}}, but this is deprecated:

• Most of these redirects are considered printworthy, so this rcat also populates Category:Printworthy redirects by default. There are some redirects from creators that are not considered notable and printworthy, so when you add this rcat to a redirect that you decide is unprintworthy, then use the unnamed parameter to subdue the Printworthy redirects category in the following manner:

or the 1= may be omitted:

and when used individually:

That will subdue the Printworthy redirects category and will add the redirect to Category:Unprintworthy redirects.
