Using quotation marks (<code>U+0022 quotation mark</code>) pronounces a HTML title attribute of <samp>"What</samp> (first word of the reason with suspiciously added quotation mark at beginning of the line): <code><kbd><nowiki>{{Elucidate|reason=What is the difference between "default" and "custom" Web sites?|date=October 2016}}</nowiki></kbd></code>.

Using HTML quote element (<code><q>quote</q></code>) results in the span element with title attribute being spilled and without quotes: <samp>[<span title="What is the difference between default and custom Web sites? (October 2016)">further explanation needed]</samp> <code><kbd><nowiki>{{Elucidate|reason=What is the difference between <q>default</q> and <q>custom<q> Web sites?|date=October 2016}}</nowiki></kbd></code>.
